Welcome to the Deaf Resource Base page at Warstones Primary School, an inclusive academy dedicated to providing excellent education and support for all our learners. Our Deaf Resource Base is a vital part of our school community, reflecting our commitment to Responsibility, Kindness, Resilience, Respect, and Aspiration.

Supporting Deaf Learners with Care and Expertise

Our Deaf Resource Base currently supports 10 children within a 14-space provision. We provide tailored support to ensure every child can fully access the curriculum and thrive alongside their peers. Communication Support Workers (CSWs) play a key role in this, assisting children with British Sign Language (BSL) so they can engage confidently in all lessons and activities.

Inclusive Learning Environment

At Warstones, we believe in inclusive education where children learn together in a shared environment. Our Deaf Resource Base is fully integrated within the wider school, promoting a culture of mutual respect and understanding. This inclusive practice helps all learners develop empathy and kindness, key values that guide our school community.

Deaf Awareness and British Sign Language: A Whole-School Commitment

Deaf awareness is taught to every child across the school, fostering an environment where everyone understands and values different communication needs. BSL is an integral part of our whole-school culture, not just within the Deaf Resource Base.
